The arrest and summons of at least 10 journalists in the last three days in Iran

Peshgo News Agency today, Sunday, 25, 9 2022: Journalist Association of Tehran, the capital of the Islamic Republic of Iran, announced in a statement that at least 10 journalists were summoned and arrested by the security agencies of iran.

This statement mentions Nilofar Hamedi, Fatemeh Rajabi, Alireza Khoshbat, Mojtabi Rahimi, Vida Rabbani, Elaha Mohammadi, Elnaz Mohammadi, Hamed Shafiei, and Yalda Meiri, and mentions the search of these people’s houses.

While referring to the search of these people’s houses, the statement reminded: “It is not possible to create “illegal restrictions” for the media and to summon and arrest journalists just because they are covering events.”

Public protests started in Iran 5 days ago when a girl named Mehsa Amini was brutalized by officers in that country for not observing the Islamic dress and later died in the hospital.
